Oberon Rose Pays Homage to Rock N’ Roll

Exciting Rock Band Oberon Rose, based in New England, just released a new single on their soundcloud page titled “No Strangers.” They have a similar sound to “The Black Keys” with their bluesy guitar riffs and hard raspy vocals. WCNI 90.9 FM’s Musical Director Brian Bourgoin, greatly describes the band as “A wonderful retro-fried slice of Rock and Psychedelic Pop.” The brains behind the creation are Tommy Oberon and Rebecca Rose. Tommy writes the music/melodies and Rebecca writes the lyrics. They make a really great team! They say they are often compared to bands like “The Kinks” “Tom Petty and “T-Rex.” Their leading song “No Strangers” has a cool retro rock vibe to it with a bit of pop splashed into it.

Here’s a quote from Tommy Oberon: “I don’t judge music as retro or vintage…I listen to it if it’s good. The history of rock and roll is the history of blues, folk, country and gospel. It’s all of those genres mixed together. Certain artists bring out different aspects of it, but at the end of the day, it’s all rock and roll. With Oberon Rose, we try to pay homage to that history. I love electric guitar, I love melody and I love harmony. Those are the things I try to bring to the listener.” [source: http://oberonrose.com/%5D
