<p><img class=" wp-image-3417 aligncenter" src="https://rockthepigeon.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/5-29-18-shaman-elect.jpg" alt="5 29 18 Shaman Elect" width="417" height="417" />Shaman Elect&#8217;s &#8216;Hugo of Bath&#8217; is some indirect, reggae-influenced indie rock. &#8220;The initial concept for the track was conceived during a snowstorm in the winter of 2016,&#8221; the band says, when &#8220;local authorities had urged everybody inside with the notion that it wasn’t safe to venture out into the storm.&#8221; They say, &#8220;the idea emerged of an adolescent boy (Hugo) feeling trapped and restless,&#8221; who, &#8220;in a fit of inspiration&#8230; can’t help but be overcome with the idea of what could be out there to be discovered, if only he would venture out.&#8221; Although the story doesn&#8217;t end well for Hugo, the group will likely have a better outcome. These Brooklyn-based artists make good use of warbled electronics and seemingly West Indian tempos and grooves to create a vibe that&#8217;s cold yet warm and deeply embedded with narrative richness. The slow tempo and consummate composition truly capture the story the group set out to tell. These guys are very talented. Check out &#8216;Hugo of Bath&#8217; below!</p>
