'It Gets to You' by The Doug Berns Band Is Retro Hard Rock with a Lighthearted Intensity

‘It Gets to You’ by The Doug Berns Band is some retro hard rock music imbued with a lighthearted intensity. On top of that, there’s a sense that they’re more in debt to riff mongers like Black Sabbath and Deep Purple than most in their genre. The group describes itself as, “a power trio that creates modern impressionistic rock music with a metallic sheen.” These guys are strong musicians. There’s almost a progressive sensibility on here – especially in regard to the lead guitar. The rhythm section sits nicely in the mix.
