<p><img class=" wp-image-4294 aligncenter" src="https://rockthepigeon.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/7-29-18-rosemont.jpg" alt="7 29 18 Rosemont" width="453" height="453" />Rosemont&#8217;s &#8216;The Willow Tree&#8217; is patient, airy shoegaze with a sweet, delicate tone. The duo, made up of Nick Klock and Thomas LaVine, is able to create a surprisingly expansive sound given their low head count. Early on in the tune&#8217;s runtime, it becomes clear to the listener that this song is built on drums. Not terribly unlike math rock groups like This Town Needs Guns or Delta Sleep, there is some rhythmically complex percussion on here that&#8217;s housed in a familiar, homey package. The ethereal, vibe-oriented guitars are what gives the tune a lot of its personality. The extensive use of various effects pedals and a loose, kind of sentimental playing style allows the strings to paint a formless yet somehow very clear picture over the drums. On top of everything, the sweet, understated vocals give the song a sense of intentionality and provide another airy melodic outlet for the duo. These guys really know what they&#8217;re doing.
