<p><img class=" size-full wp-image-4491 aligncenter" src="https://rockthepigeon.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/8-7-18-colour-machine.jpg" alt="8 7 18 Colour Machine" width="480" height="360" />Colour Machine&#8217;s &#8217;21st Century&#8217; is groovy, lightly progressive rock music with a Saturday Night Fever meets post-punk revival vibe. The band describe this song as, &#8220;a funk-inspired social commentary on the mindset of twenty-first century youth, pulling from influences as broad as The White Stripes to George Clinton.&#8221; Their new EP, <em>Strengthen My Hands</em>, &#8220;will be released later in 2018,&#8221; they say, &#8220;off the back of a concentrated marketing campaign.&#8221; Under plinky, rhythmic guitar work this song is built on an exceptionally solid rhythm section. The drums and bass do an amazing job of accenting the guitar work while exuding their own distinct senses of presence and personality. Melodically, the guitar does a good job of floating between more traditional rock sections and attitudinal funk-imbued dirges. Over everything, the vocal performance does a great job of giving the track a sense of coherence and consistency. These guys really know what they&#8217;re doing.
