GLMR's 'Take All You Want' Is Modern, Bubbly Indie Pop with Retro Influences

GLMR’s ‘Take All you Want’ is modern, bubbly indie pop with some decidedly retro influences and tendencies. This self-described “synth pop rock band from Los Angeles,” said this is the “second single from our upcoming debut EP Be Where You Are.” The group makes use of modern techniques to extrapolate on the eighties pop rock sound pioneered by groups like Depeche Mode or New Order. In a lot of ways, their approach isn’t terribly unlike that of The 1975 or Pale Waves. The group makes good use of glittery synths, synthesized percussion and funky, poppy hooks. This is a radio-ready pop track, but at the same time there’s a level of complexity and nuance in here that helps this group bob above the pack. This is a laid-back track from a neat project.
