Redd’s ‘She Said’ feat. Rocky Wallace Is a Strong, Diverse Pop Track

11 14 18 ReddRedd’s ‘She Said’ featuring Rocky Wallace is expansive, hook-oriented pop music featuring a woody, analog vibe and a fast-paced, technical rap section. “This is the first single off the upcoming release No Free Tickets,” the artists say, which is “due out December 1st.” Clearly, this is well-rooted in the conventions of modern pop music, but this ad hoc duo has created a very unique environment for their vocal performances to sit in. The mechanical, almost scientific rap section that opens the song flows really well into the hook-laden body of the track defined by the sweet, dynamic voice of Rocky Wallace. The trap beat that serves as the song’s backbone doesn’t feel overly robotic. The percussion and hi-hats have a distinct warmth to them and the acoustic, ethereal approach to melody gives the track a sense of approachability and humble clarity. This is a great piece from two solid artists. Check out ‘She Said’ below!
