<p>It seems like it is almost every day that people are coming forward about being victims of sexual assault and harassment. Finally, the voices of the survivors are being heard. As more and more people come forward, the #MeToo movement is being taken more seriously, and hopefully this inspires change and serves as a bit of healing for all of the survivors. The indie rock band Bridge 19 wanted to use their music to amplify those voices a little bit more. We believe that their new song &#8220;The One&#8221; serves as a great way to lift up those who are negatively affected.<br />

The song is a teaser for Bridge 19&#8217;s third studio album &#8220;In The Afterglow&#8221; that hits stores on April 26th, 2019. &#8220;The One&#8221; was co-written by the leaders of the band Amanda Lucas, who sings the lead vocals and Audrey Cecil, who also sings and plays lead guitar. The songwriting was inspired by the #MeToo movement. They were driven to write the song during the sentencing of former USA Gymnastics and Michigan State University physician, Larry Nassar. Dozens of victims and survivors were courageously coming forward and Bridge 19 wanted to add to the conversation with this incredibly powerful song. The song combines sounds of country, bluegrass, folk and Americana with powerful storytelling lyrics with the dark theme of sexual assault. However, the song is uplifting and can be an anthem to anyone that identifies as a victim or survivor themselves to sexual assault or harassment.</p>
