Motherfolk is out with their latest LP Family Ghost today! We are super stoked about it! Motherfolk is a band that we have been following for over 5 years now and we have watched them rise. Nearing 70,000 monthly Spotify listeners, Motherfolk’s latest music is dreamy indie pop with energetic catchy hook melodies. We definitely expect these numbers to shoot up in the coming weeks.

The band released 3 singles from this record before dropping the completed LP. First they released “Kill the Sun”, which we covered in recent article. Then they released “Fine With It” which has moments of dreamy indie rock guitars and high-energetic vocals that are coated with just the right amount of reverb and echo. This is a song that you will definitely be singing along to after just a few spins. The way the track builds shows extreme talent and sets the band apart from the rest in their genre. Our favorite part is the guitar tone. The last single to drop before the release of the LP was “More Than You Know.”

The lyrical content on this record goes very deep. Motherfolk is no stranger to meaningful lyrics about all things human. This record really is about family ghosts, it’s a record about family issues and troubles that individuals try to bury deep down and not ever properly deal with.

We highly recommend listening to “Simple Things” as well!
