
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Luc Josef’s new song, New Caledonia, is an artistic journey of imagery. Audiences won’t be able to keep themselves from going on the auditory trip presented to them through the soulful sound of banjo. New Caledonia was an early name given to British Columbia, and trust me &#8211; you’re headed to Canada in just three and a half minutes. The song, and writer, were inspired by a piece written by Afro-Canadian poet Wayde Compton, which reflected on the experience of people of color settling on the West Coast. The poem made Luc Josef, who is from British Columbia, want to write a song about Canada’s geography, “something that captured the energy and movement of migration.” And he does. </p>
