Rum Jungle ease you in gently with a warm acoustic guitar before pulling the rug out from under you and launching into a full on rock track with gritty, soaring guitar riffs that absolutely take off. The singer’s vocal range is something special, moving effortlessly from chest voice up into a gorgeous falsetto that feels completely natural and totally thrilling. The melodies coming from both the vocals and the guitars complement each other so well that the whole song feels like one big, beautiful conversation. There is so much energy and character packed into this track and it has a young, free spirited quality that makes it impossible not to feel something while listening. When the electric guitars kick in over the chorus the song opens up into something rock n’ roll and untamed and it is a really great moment. “Lowlife” is a full musical soundscape to get completely lost in and Rum Jungle are the perfect guides.
