That’s right, on June 10th at 6pm sharp at Boomtown Brewery, two of your favorite local music scene heroes, Golden Poppy Music and June Gloom Events, are teaming up for a very queer show featuring some of LA’s best queer talent: Ryan Cassata, Abby Posner, The Sea Tease, Xtine and the Reckless Hearts, Nina Nepa, and Jules Penham.
The lineup consists of Ryan Cassata, an award-winning folk punk singer-songwriter and LGBTQ+ activist signed to Kill Rock Stars, with over 850 shows and eight critically acclaimed albums under his belt; Abby Posner, a genre-fluid multi-instrumentalist who can move from a blues guitar solo to an Earl Scruggs banjo riff without missing a beat; Xtine & The Reckless Hearts, LA’s all-female queer multiracial post-hardcore riot grrrl band, fronted by Xtine Reckless, daughter of legendary Jamaican bassist George “Fully” Fullwood; Nina Nepa, a mechanical engineer turned Berklee-trained singer-songwriter and producer whose organic, vulnerable songwriting is matched by precision that makes her one of LA’s most exciting rising names; Jules Penham, a Punk Americana artist who weaponizes sarcasm and melody to sneak revolutionary ideas past your defenses, for fans of Aimee Mann, Van Morrison, and Ani DiFranco; and The Sea Tease, the psychedelic-soul project of Grammy voting member and label CEO Michaela D. Jordan, a non-binary guitar-shredding siren forged in Philly and expanded under the Los Angeles sun.
