‘No Rush’ by Hendrix Harris is some quick, technical rap music. Harris comes from an RNB background which makes his delivery all the more surprising. He spits so fast most probably have trouble understanding his lyrics on the first listen. This challenging approach in conjunction with the quality of his beats places him above the rest. Musically, the combination of old school hardcore hip hop sampling techniques and more modern, eclectic trap-oriented synthesized percussion is really satisfying. On the choruses, Harris’ more melodic background comes through. It’s truly a succesful fusion of rap’s nerdiest, most progressive elements with its more pop-oriented, radio-friendly tendencies.
