“joyride is about letting things go for the better. when i was a kid, my parents had a truck that never ran. it was stolen out of our driveway and they were unbelievably cool about it. they knew they never used it anyway, and there were much bigger problems to worry about. i remember that being the first time i learned about perspective; that even when bad things happen, you have to take the good things out of it. when my parents got divorced, it brought me back to this moment. even though it’s not the greatest thing on paper, i knew splitting up would endlessly make them happier, so this is me looking at my parents separating through the lens of a dust collecting hunk of metal that wouldn’t properly turn on.” – Adam Melchor

24 year old singer-songwriter and recording artist, Adam Melchor is out with a melodic folk song. It’s all about changing perspective to have a healthier mind. It’s a slow building song with smooth sailing vocals that are drenched in pure emotion and gratitude. “Joyride” was inspired by his parents divorce, an old truck that sat in his driveway until it was stolen, and a brand new perspective. The songwriting is extremely well-done, the melody of the song holds strong through all it’s sections. The song is driven by an acoustic guitar but also starts with a beautiful horn section that comes back towards the middle and end to add a more anthemic vibe to the track.

Adam Melchor is currently on tour with Rodrigo y Gabriela. The artist is based in New Jersey.
