
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Neon Gold Records introduces us to new signee joe p and his new grungy song &#8220;Fighting in the Car.&#8221; Joe p made a musical shift during the pandemic. His long-term band stopped playing due to venues closing their doors for quarantine. He then found himself experimenting with new sounds in his New Jersey basement, the result is his solo project, which got him signed to Neon Gold Records. This is the most authentic and raw project he has released, as the self-recording process, with less time constraints, gave him more space to experiment and fully express himself musically and lyrically. </p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Although the song starts off with a grungy riff, the chorus feels more pop-rock. The song smoothly transitions into the distorted electric guitar. Both the vocals and guitar riff and unique and make for an alluring first introduction to this rising star.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The music video is one-take, featuring a simple performance set-up that mimics a school-talent show. </p>

I really liked how the words sat next to each other and supplied a sort of motion/action -based imagery with just a few words. I had the riff from the verse that felt sort of bouncy and confident, so when the chorus came, I wanted that to capture the contrasting imagery I had in my head that stemmed from the song title. I was trying to channel what it feels like to be willing to go through all of the most difficult/painful parts of something because even those moments are better than the best parts of other things. Like opting to go to hell if it means you could be with someone as opposed to going to heaven without them.”</em> &#8211; joe p </p></blockquote>
