
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">UK-based artist CELIIN combines sensuality and darkness in her latest song &#8220;Manchester.&#8221; This sexy song features impressive lyrics about BDSM and kink and pleasure and pain. The singer explains that the lyrics are metaphorical, diving into the topics of boundaries, limits, and toxicity: </p>

It&#8217;s definitely a song that is filled with seduction&#8230;sure to be a hit at The Folsom Street Fair and other kink-friendly spaces. </p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The song also talks about consent and safe words which is an important topic that should be more widely discussed between sexual partners. CELIIN sings <em>&#8220;I say do it boy&#8230;I&#8217;ll say your safe word&#8230;&#8221; </em> The song normalizes giving consent before engaging in a sexual practice and it normalizes saying a safe word to bring it to a pause or stop. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I can hear the song exploring the topic of feeling shame in loving and practicing BDSM and kink. In our culture, something as simple as non-martial sex is stigmatized, so of course BDSM and kink are frowned upon and stigmatized. However, many people do engage in this type of sexual activity and should be able to engage without stigma as long it&#8217;s done safely between two consenting adults. I believe CELIIN&#8217;s song safely explores this topic and helps to de-stigmatize BDSM and kink. </p>
