It also reflects on the concept that one can still hold a space of love or even longing for a person despite their negative effects on your life,” explained Goldsmith. “I wrote this song from a specific experience with a close family member that suffered from addiction. His positive influence on my life is something I carry with me although we no longer have a connection. There is humanity in all people. I believe we always have to look for the light people possess even in the darkest of situations. ‘Haunted,’ which I wrote with Peter Fenn is a song that speaks of grace to this very complicated idea of letting go while holding onto the good.”
