“This song came from a very real place. I grew up in America, and now I’m living in India, so I get to see things from a different lens. But the impact of what’s happening in the U.S. doesn’t go away just because I’m across the world – it still hits just as hard. Seeing Renée Good and Alex Pretti get murdered and then hearing their names being questioned and torn apart by leadership was something I couldn’t emotionally hold back from. That’s what gave birth to this song. Everything else happening in the world just completed it. I don’t know if it changes anything, but this was the only way I knew how to do something about it – to write a song. – JAYSDEAD
