‘Spin of the Wheels, Tick of the Wind’, the new Nicole Saphos song, is jazzy and engaging without sacrificing a shred of pop sensibility. This Washington DC-based, California-born upright bassist and singer is extremely talented. ‘Spin of the Wheel…’ has jangly, subdued guitars, dynamic yet pocketed drums and well-developed walking bass lines.
