The Honest Heart Collective’s ‘Separate Ways’ Combines Springsteen and Pop Punk

5 7 18 The Honest Heart Collective‘Separate Ways’ by The Honest Heart Collective is some powerful, retro rock music. This band was “was born out of a moment at a Bruce Springsteen concert and a rotating cast of musicians made permanent.” These Ontario natives have a geographically distinct style that ties them to groups like Death From Above, Cancer Bats and Alexisonfire. The eighties pop rock (a la Bruce Springsteen) really comes out here, but these guys also seem to have some pop punk and post-hardcore influences. The Moog synthesizer they use sounds like it could be right out of a Get Up Kids album and their humble, classic rock-influenced guitar work isn’t entirely unlike that of Tigers Jaw or Brand New. These guys bring the angst in a manageable, easily palatable package that could also appeal to older listeners. They have real commercial potential. Check out ‘Seperate Ways’ below!
