<p><img class=" wp-image-3250 aligncenter" src="https://rockthepigeon.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/5-21-18-standard-legal.jpg" alt="5 21 18 Standard Legal" width="548" height="365" />Standard Legal&#8217;s &#8216;General Airborne&#8217; is sleepy, shoegaze-influenced dream pop straight out of Los Angeles. This song off the new album <em>Mercury</em> is &#8220;composed primarily of Apple loops.&#8221; It blends together, &#8220;strands of outsider-pop, EDM, garage punk, UK dubstep, psychedelia, and who knows what else.&#8221; &#8220;It is lyrically tied together by a fascination with violence and uncertainty,&#8221; the artist says, &#8220;albeit refusing to take sides.&#8221; This unique, deeply dreamy track does a great job of putting the listener into a trance. The decidedly canned nature of the sounds chosen gives the song a sense of reclamation. It takes some of the blandest musical bases and twists them into something worth listening to, which is kind of amazing when you think about it.
