Nasaya’s Bouncy, Off-Kilter ‘Orange’ Is Peak Indie-Pop

6 7 18 NasayaNasaya’s ‘Orange’ is some bouncy, off-kilter indie-pop featuring a distinctly tropical vibe. This track from the French artist featuring the LA-based Cheryl is a cut above the rest. The song, “is a shimmery, electronic ode to embracing chaos,” she says. “The idea was to make something danceable while keeping a dreamy atmosphere with airy, bright textures. The song describes the abandonment of fear at the door of chaos with an optimism and excitement that grows gradually throughout.” What’s great about this tune is the fact that it can be danced to, but hasn’t sacrificed complexity or originality. The grimy, unpredictable beat sits perfectly behind a glowing, glitzy melodic section. On top of that, some well-tracked, well-performed vocals help give the song direction. This is truly peak pop.
