Rathbone’s ‘Ain’t Somebody Here’ Is Eclectic Bayou Art Music

6 11 18 RathboneRathbone’s ‘Ain’t Somebody Here’ is weird, eclectic art music with a funky groove. This New Orleans-based artist has a lot of experience producing for other musicians, but now he wants to explore his own work. The groovy, seemingly-computer-generated keys that define the song sit over a consistent, rolling drum beat. In a lot of ways, this seems to take strong cues from retro pop music and old school hip hop. On top of everything, the garbled vocalizations and fun, repetitive phrases give the tune some irreplaceably distinct character. This is a quality project. Check out ‘Ain’t Somebody Here’ below!
