The Racer’s ‘Paris’ is ethereal indie-rooted post rock with tons of emotion. “The initial idea of the song was created right after the tragic events at the Bataclan Theatre in Paris, late 2015,” the band says. “You read about moments of chaos, running for your life type of situations, but then you hear these stories of how people help each other, acting so selflessly for strangers alike. It’s the most inspirational thing out there.” The song’s patient opening eventually bursts into a crescendo of bright, throttling guitar work and pounding percussion before it fades into nothing. ‘Paris’ truly captures the duality of tragic events. While a despicable incident like what happened at the Bataclan is certainly ripped apart and ended peoples’ lives, at the same time it brought out the best in individual Parisians. This song is absolutely worth a listen. Check out ‘Paris’ below!
