Foxera’s ‘Memories’ is ultra-melodic post-hardcore with progressive tendencies and a very high production value. The band says they are, “currently getting ready to record a diverse collection of debut songs with producer Taylor Larson,” who has worked with the likes of Periphery, Veil of Maya and Asking Alexandria. Tilian Pearson, Dance Gavin Dance’s current vocalist, makes an appearance on the track as well. It’s clear these guys know exactly what they are going for – they wear their influences on their sleeves. Glitzy, dense post-hardcore bands like Circa Survive and Dance Gavin Dance, quite literally, rear their heads on here. Behind that, there’s a melodically progressive sensibility that seems reminiscent of progressive metalcore bands like ERRA or Born of Osiris. These guys do a great job in terms of production, musicianship and performance – even if their debut sound is kind of derivative – something that’s understandable for a young band.
