<p><img class=" size-full wp-image-4593 aligncenter" src="https://rockthepigeon.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/8-14-18-dayeater.jpg" alt="8 14 18 Dayeater" width="384" height="384" />Dayeater&#8217;s &#8216;Mr. III&#8217; is dense, trippy hard rock with a fuzzy throwback sensibility. The band, &#8220;featuring Austin&#8217;s worst-one-handed-guitar-player Jesse Lee,&#8221; they say, &#8220;has been jamming around Texas since 2014.&#8221; This &#8220;faced-paced, fun jam,&#8221; is the first single from their upcoming record. After a disorientingly fuzzy intro, the band jumps into the equally distorted body of their song. Some intense, straightforward chug-oriented guitar sections give way, at several points in the song, to whirring, unhinged solos. Under this one-handed guitar work, a competent rhythm section puts down a somewhat complex, but not overbearingly so, platform for the song&#8217;s melodic elements to lay on. Over everything, some strong, retro vocals reminiscent of groups like MC5, Blue Cheer and Led Zeppelin finish off the track&#8217;s intensely trippy vibe.
