After a plinky, reverb-drenched intro, this solo artist jumps suddenly, and with tons of heart, into the body of his song. Over some rough, static-imbued percussion, the steady, effects-oriented guitar work gives the song an immutable, consistent pace. In certain ways, it seems like this artist takes cues from big names like Mac Demarco, bedroom pop and maybe to some extent trap or cloud rap. There&#8217;s a sad, refined-yet-dirty sensibility on here that really embodies the broader musical climate we&#8217;re living through.
