<p><img class=" size-full wp-image-4624 aligncenter" src="https://rockthepigeon.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/8-16-18-holo.jpg" alt="8 16 18 HOLO" width="300" height="300" />Holo&#8217;s &#8216;Someone I&#8217;d Rather Be&#8217; is sad, pensive pop punk with some decidedly emo tendencies. &#8220;Every lyric and note of this song was played with with passion and love for music,&#8221; the band says. Their goal, they say, is &#8220;to share this feeling with as many people as we can.&#8221; There&#8217;s a kind of sly, jumpy jankiness that underlies this whole tune. It gives the whole piece a really deep, enveloping sense of anxiety. The chord progressions on here are very well crafted as well. They have a familiar quality, but at the same time these guys aren&#8217;t just recycling the work of their forbearers &#8211; at least not without shaking things up a little. The vocal performance is strong, but what&#8217;s even more impressive is that it comes from the drummer. Singing in a lead role and laying the rhythmic base down at the same time is far from an easy task. This is an impressive group with tons of potential.
