<p>In most failed relationships, everyone involved is at fault for the relationship’s end. Cassette Tape’s new song “Forgiveness” explores one experience between two people who are both to blame for a bad relationship. The speaker cheated, and the other person wanted to be a hero. The message of the song is powerful: recognize personal faults and apologize, but don’t go back to or stay in an unhealthy relationship. The pop sound to the song creates an uplifting melody that makes the song as a whole an anthem for anyone moving on from a bad relationship, while the jazzy instruments add to the emotional complexity.</p>
