Cursive is the type of band that always made me feel like I’m not the only one with dark and self-deprecating thoughts. I clearly remember growing up to songs like “The Recluse” and “Art is Hard.” Cursive has a way of showcasing emotional or troubling songs in such a lovely and beautiful way, you never want to stop listening. Which is probably why this great band has been giving us these songs for over two decades.
“Life Savings” is the first single off Cursive’s 8th album “Vitriola.” Cursive is known for having brilliant concept albums about tough topics. This upcoming album Vitriola, to be released October 5th is more or less about how we’re all feeling these days, and whether or not there is meaning or matter to anything and how we can keep going. Again, as Cursive always has, the single Life Savings gives us all something to relate to and makes us feel much less alone in this chaotic world. This song makes us question what exactly are we worth and if it even means anything while at the same time inviting you to sing along.
