Cubbage’s ‘Secrets’ is smooth, pensive pop rock with an eclectic, nostalgic approach. These guys describe themselves as, “a Philadelphia-based band rooted in alternative rock, with tastes of blues, jazz, folk and pop.” They claim to fuse, “The 1975’s rhythmic pulse with John Mayer-like vocals and Sonny Rollins-like saxophone lines.” The group “has toured the country, played multiple festivals and conferences around the east coast, has been featured in top 2016 and 2017 playlists and has had music recently licensed,” by companies including MTV, A&E and NASCAR. These guys cover a lot of ground on here. There’s a sad, nostalgic emo pop vibe going on, but at the same time they’re bringing modern pop rock stylings to the table in conjunction with a clean brassy tone and exceptional musicianship. This is a top-notch piece that could easily gain traction online or over the airwaves. Check out ‘Secrets’ below!
