Indigo Velvet’s ‘Nineteen’ Is Lively, Tropical Glaswegian Indie Pop

12 17 18 Indigo Velvet.jpgIndigo Velvet’s ‘Nineteen’ is clean, lively indie pop with a slick, groovy take. These guys “are set to unveil another slice of vibrant tropical indie-pop through,” this new single, they say, which was “out on December 7th via IV Records.” This group describes their sound as, “an unmistakably effervescent and danceable brand of indie-pop.” The act has been garnering a lot of attention, and it’s pretty clear why. There’s a clarity and purity on here reminiscent of more traditional twenty-first century pop music, but they bring a more organic, almost retro fuzz to parts of that which give the whole piece a meaningful sense of character and grit. All the performances on here are top notch. On top of that, the production is really on another level. Keep an eye out for these guys. They’ll probably cross your radar again soon.
