<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Music From a Birdcage&#8217;s &#8216;Spiral Down&#8217; is sludgy, expansive hard rock with a lo-fi approach. &#8220;Music from a Birdcage is the solo project of veteran Bay Area musician Matt Deems,&#8221; this artist says, &#8220;who has contributed to a number of musical endeavors over the years,&#8221; including as &#8220;guitarist and songwriter for the respected San Francisco post-rock group Form and Fate.&#8221; This track &#8220;written and recorded using only an iPad, a $30 iRig interface, and a guitar,&#8221; like all of Deems&#8217; work from this project. This is a really well put together track. There&#8217;s tons of character in the widely panned, scratchy lead guitar. Behind that, the pocketed-yet-punchy nature of the rhythm section gives the track a solid and the whirring electronic fill out the mix nicely. This is a cool track from a neat artist.
