‘Sad Summers Day’ by Burning Bones is expansive, melancholy alternative rock with a sweet, soft approach. This musician describes herself as, “a solo artist living in Melbourne, Australia.” She says “this is a track about the passing of my Dad earlier this year.” This definitely has some strong bedroom vibes going, but there’s a sense of fullness and completion on here that’s not easy to come by in solo projects. In a word, the song could be described as haunting. Every element hangs in the ether for a minute before it creepily grazes its way by the listener. It really hits a specific environment right on the head. This is a meaningful track from a talented artist. Check out ‘Sad Summers Day’ below!
