Like the River’s ‘Element’ is some meandering, lowkey alternative rock with an atmospheric take. These West Virginia natives really know how to bring power and bite to a serene, unassuming track. The song’s keystone riff blasts through the mix providing an important contrast for the rest of the tune’s otherwise airy components. Compositionally, these guys make good use of the loud-soft dynamic that’s defined much of alternative rock’s development. This is truly a full, lush soundscape.
