Pedro the Lionโ€™s โ€˜The Quietest Friendโ€™ Is the Most Introspective Indie Rock

Pedro the Lionโ€™s โ€˜The Quietest Friendโ€™ is some deep, folky indie rock from this prolific singer-songwriter. โ€œIn August 2016,โ€ a press release reads, โ€œduring what he now recognizes as his lowest point, David Bazan was touring the country alone in an aging minivan and found himself in his hometown of Phoenix.โ€ Before taking off the next morning โ€œBazan gave himself the gift of a quick detour past the house he grew up in, and experienced a breakthrough โ€“ one that would lead him both forward and back to another home he had built many years before.โ€ Bazan has always had a keen eye for the profound, so itโ€™s unsurprising that a simple pit stop at his old stomping grounds hit him so hard. What is surprising is how strong Bazanโ€™s work has remained so strong since the release of Itโ€™sย Hardย toย Findย aย Friend over twenty years ago. There are few solo artists who can maintain drive and foster a consistent vision in the way Bazan has. Not everybody knows his name. In fact, most people โ€“ even within his scene โ€“ probably donโ€™t. But Bazanโ€™s has been, and continues to be, deeply influential to an entire generation of downbeat alt-rockers. Everyone should give this track a listen. Check out โ€˜The Quietest Friendโ€™ below!
