‘Left Out in the Sun’ by First Round’s on Me Is Bass-Heavy Alt-Rock

‘Left Out in the Sun’ by First Round’s on Me is a prescient, groovy alternative rock track. These guys describe themselves as an “alternative/garage rock band in Chicago,” made up of “members influenced by classic rock, thrash metal, indie rock, blues and just about anything in between.” This, the band says, “is a personal song about struggling with working too much and finding time to enjoy the good times while they last.” Focusing on “two central characters, the song tells a story of anger and sadness with one’s situation and using music as an outlet to vent one’s frustrations.” These guys cover a lot of ground on this track. The vocals and guitar work are both impressive, but it seems like in a lot of ways the bassist carries this group. It’s always nice to hear complex, mellow bass lines driving a more traditional rock track. Check out ‘Left Out in the Sun’ below!
