Mikayla Lane has a captivating way of setting up her songs. “Pushing Up Daisies” has a fairly quick intro then dives right into a hard-hitting country-rock song. Lane has a confident voice that powerfully projects throughout the song. The melody is strong, entertaining, and offset with well-written, witty lyrics. “Pushing Up Daisies” is a perfect aftermath of a break-up song. It’s not sad or remorseful but, on the contrary, Lane puts into words reasons to break it off with the wrong person.
