Ian Blackwood took the popular Bruce Springsteen song “I’m on Fire” and made it his own. The guitar part has the same catchy riff from the original, while the vocal lays more in the pop realm. The dark energy from the original is replaced with a more romantic feel. Vocals sail smoothly through the track with a touch of tenderness that is undeniable. The lyrics are more fitting for the current times than the 1984 Bruce original. He changes the opening lyrics from “Hey little girl is your daddy home?” to “Hey there pretty girl is your man at home?”
Coming from someone who is a huge Bruce fan, I love this cover and am quite impressed.
