
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">&#8220;Getting Old is a Bitch&#8221; is an ode to all the Italian Grandmothers out there. Local Nomad, takes the common phrase &#8220;Getting Old Is a Bitch&#8221; and forms a unique song relating to the topic. It is a phrase that I have definitely heard my elder Long Island Italian-American relatives say more than once. The lyrics are both comical and true, discussing the way the human body changes as it ages. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The driving force of this anthem is a firm bass line. The softly delivered vocals float on top of the bass line and simple drums. The production style of the instrumentation is light, allowing for the lyrics to be heard and not hurried under too many guitars or synths. <p class="wp-block-paragraph">Local Nomad is the moniker of Michael Desmond, the Long Island-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He cites his influences as Tears for Fears, Elvis Costello to Phil Collins, Paul Simon, and Gnarls Barkley. </p>
