Summer is gone, Bitch is back! Queer singer-songwriter and artist Bitch (of Bitch and Animal), is out with a cover of Don Henley’s chart topping song “The Boys of Summer” via Kill Rock Stars. Moments of this exciting new version draw inspiration from Henley’s 1984 hit while other moments cut across as fresh and unique. Bitch gives the queer world a queer spin on this classic song. If you’re looking for the right balance of nostalgic sounds and modern sounds, you will surely find that on this recording. The track was recorded at Sonic Factory in Des Moines, IA and Bitch plays violins as well as sings on the recording.
She says: “I relate to holding someone in your memory in the most romantic view–the one in the rear view mirror. I am a sucker for any driving song, since I spend most of my time on the road. Singing it as a woman gives it a whole different queer take.”
This cover version is a must-listen! Enjoy it now via YouTube:
