
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Celebrated Canadian country singer/songwriter Megan Freedman announced a new single today, “King of Hearts,” from her upcoming EP out later this year.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">“King of Hearts’ takes inspiration from the likes of Sheryl Crow, Alanis Morissette, and Taylor Swift,” Freedman tells Rock the Pigeon. “Lyrically, it tells the story of a woman who knowingly enters a relationship with a man who is known to be a player&#8230; she is unsurprised, but is still very angry when she gets played.”</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Recorded at Bryan Adams’ Warehouse Studio in Vancouver with Roots Album of the Year nominee Mitch Merritt, &#8220;Hearts&#8221; is the latest from the Global Award-winning songwriter&#8217;s upcoming EP following last year’s single “Perfect.” Although the confessional nature is signature Taylor, “King” leans into the stirringly empowered country pop anthems of Sheryl Crow and Shania Twain at their peaks in the ‘90s. ;</p>
