Can you imagine a queer and trans community space built for musicians? Look no further than Switterbeat Collective! This music studio collective is flipping the script on launching a music career, providing an inclusive community for queer and gender-diverse artists and band members to close the gap on the skills they need to be self-sufficient professional musicians.
Located in Echo Park, Los Angeles, Switterbeat Collective supports a network of queer, female, nonbinary, and trans community members and recording artists. Members share use of a home music studio and access to equipment, rehearsal and performance spaces, lessons, workshops, and mutual support. Ultimately, the goal is to foster a community that uplifts creativity and development.
Cuties LA, another Los Angeles-based queer community org is hosting a virtual fundraiser event this Saturday 1/29 from 3–7 PM PST to help launch the space! The fundraiser will feature an incredible lineup of queer and trans musical talent including Ryan Cassata, Teen Slang, Ezra Michel, Lyncs, Brett Gleason, Kathleen Kelso, Mx Puja Singh, 100 Miles, Tonii and GAYA.
