Latest Releases From the UK & Australia By Bel Kil, Martin Luke Brown, and Paolo Nutini

“My Year” by Bel Kil

Australian Artist Bel Kil’s release “My Year” will draw you instantly with the introduction’s vocals. The groove that kicks in about a minute in is funky and super catchy. The vocal delivery reminds me of Lorde and Lana Del Rey. The production of “My Year” is really professionally done and sounds radio ready. The lyrics are relatable to anyone who’s gone through some growth after a break up. If Bel Kil ever comes to the US, I’d love to catch this song live. Listen on Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, and YouTube.

“love is a black hole !” by Martin Luke Brown

The acoustic singer-songwriter energy takes over from the very beginning of “love is a black hole !”. As the vocals kick in, the dream pop emphasis of the production comes through. The lyrics share the story of uncertainty in a relationship. I think this track would be perfect for the soundtrack of an indie movie. The acoustic guitar and the vocal delivery compliment each other perfectly. This track reminds of American Singer-Songwriter Patrick Park. Listen on Spotify and SoundCloud.

“Everywhere” by Paolo Nutini

As seen on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Paolo Nutini’s recently performed his single is called “Everywhere”. This track is stripped and highlights Paolo’s vocals. The vocal delivery reminds me of the same strength of James Bay. “Everywhere” is about a love that is so strong, it feels like it is everywhere. There is a nice electric guitar solo that adds some texture to the song. “Everywhere” is a sweet love song for those who’ve found that everlasting love. Listen on Spotify or watch the live performance from Late Night with Seth Meyers.
