Introducing Milk St. with their new song and video, “Good Grief.” They self-describe as “hardcore soft rock,” but between the acoustic guitars, casual vocal styling, and lyrical content all about not working, it aligns with the genre folk punk super well. As the lyrics put it:
“I never did do math too well, but I know 666 makes hell.”
The vocal delivery starts off super laid back and relaxed, but it grows more and more intense as the song carries on, eventually exploding when a full band kicks in with rock ‘n’ roll guitars and heavy drums. Along the way, the song gets surprisingly experimental in sections, dropping in cool moments like DJ record-scratch sounds and shoegaze-style electric guitars.
To top it all off, the music video captures the exact vibe of a house party that you genuinely wish you were invited to.
