Gianna Mae has released her new single, “Boy with a Bike,” but it’s nothing you’ve heard before. Gianna Mae’s latest single is a pop-rock modern tune-up and songwriting that’s definitely earned its miles.

Live drums playing a steady rock rhythm set the tempo with a type of subtle swagger alongside a cleverly placed sound of an engine revving up, keeping perfect time with the rugged beat. (For all my motor heads out there, can you guess the audio sample here?) Whatever engine it is, it signals what’s to come as Gianna Mae kicks “Boy with a Bike.”

Cutting into the mix on “Boy with a Bike” are Gianna Mae’s playful and deliciously distorted vocals alongside gritty and cutting guitars that manage to keep their sticky-sweet and satisfying tone appeal through the intensity.

The vivid and sharp imagery of the lyrics will absolutely blow your hair back, too:
