12 Days in Paris, a Los Angeles-based indie-folk act, just came out with their new single ‘Commutation.’ Lead singer Daniel Durston lays down his gospel-inspired vocals over co-writer Jonathan Espinoza’s dynamic, acoustic guitar-driven tracks. Durston, an actor, is currently on tour with the Broadway musical Million Dollar Quartet as Elvis Presley. The duo’s harmonies are infectious, and Durston’s vocals on this track are on par with those of Brendan Urie or Patrick Stump. ‘Commutation’ is full of personality from the bouncy guitar paired and percussive samples to the duo’s mid-track comedic ad-libs. Durston and Espinoza excel at something that’s very difficult to do – unambiguously expressing character through music.
