‘Maga Dog’, Canadian artist Exco Levi’s new song, is a groovy, traditional reggae tune. On this track, the guitar and bass fit right into the pocket – where they’re supposed to be. The steel drum bits add some nice flair to what’s otherwise a relatively simple song. The tune’s name has its roots in the old Jamaican proverb, “sorry fi mawga dawg, mawga dawg tun round bite yuh.” Levi explained this as “doing your best” for somebody and “being repaid in evil” which he sees as a universal truth. Everything about Levi and his music oozes Candian-West Indian pride. His new album NARRATIVE is out now. Go check it out (video above)!
