‘Keepsakes’, the new Stayawakes song, is some sunny, bubbly pop punk. These rockers, hailing from the English resort town of Southsea, wrote ‘Keepsakes’ early on in their career. In fact, it was their first original song altogether. The vocals on this track are spot on and properly produced. The traditional rock instrumentation is pretty standard but solid. The band’s use of synths is probably the element of this track that stands out the most. It gives the listener a summery-yet-sentimental Get Up Kids vibe. The new Stayawakes album Dogs and Cats / Living Together is dropping this coming June. Get excited!
