The Make Pretend’s new song ‘One More Day’ has some Elliott Smith in it, but expresses its own take on acoustic guitar music. Clearly, a lot of thought went into this subdued, poppy tune. This New York-based project spearheaded by singer-songwriter Jason Verlaine in conjunction with members of Norah Jones, Joseph Arthur and Autumn Defense has a lot to offer. The drums are right where they need to be and don’t overpower the song’s more delicate elements. The ongoing ambient violin also helps set the track’s tone and scope. Go check these guys out!
